C1 provides identity governance for Avalara AvaTax. Integrate your AvaTax account with C1 for unified visibility and governance over user access.

Capabilities

The connector reads accounts, companies, and users, and reconstructs each user’s account membership, security-role assignment, and company membership as access grants.

Prerequisites

  • An Avalara AvaTax account with administrator access.
  • An account ID and a license key with read access. Both are available in the AvaTax portal under Settings → License and API keys.
  • Decide whether to connect the production or sandbox environment.

Setup

  1. In the AvaTax portal, go to Settings → License and API keys and copy your Account ID and generate (or copy) a License key.
  2. In C1, create a new AvaTax connector.
  3. Enter the Account ID and License key, and choose the Environment (production or sandbox, defaulting to production).
  4. Save the connector. C1 verifies the credentials and begins the first sync.

Authentication

The connector authenticates to the AvaTax REST v2 API with HTTP Basic authentication, using the account ID as the username and the license key as the password. Credentials are used only for read operations.
